Runaway Horses -- Nobodies

From Secret Police by Thomas Plate and Andrea Darvi:

"Like many transactions in life, the nature of the secret police encounter depends to no small extent on who you are.

"The absolute nobodies of the world tend to receive the worst of everything: arrest by the crudest agents, with little or no observance of any kind. By comparison, the somebodies of the world -- even the most vocal and ardent opponents of a regime, whether they be lawyers, doctors, historians, professors, etc. -- tend to benefit from what many exiles refer to as the 'kid gloves' treatment even during an arrest that will lead to detention."

Hate to have to break it to all the Protest Warrior sadists!
